Who We Are



The Garden Shoppe was founded in 1984 by Dave and Gerri Whetstone. It originally started as a seasonal stand selling Easter and Mother's Day flowers and Christmas trees. In 1999, they opened a full time store selling garden gifts and supplies and selling flowers year round. Over the next couple years, they added Halloween decorations, a full time Christmas shop and a seasonal outdoor Farmer's Market. Dave retired in 2004, but Gerri is there almost everyday.

NURSERY





All of our flowers, except tropicals, are grownin locally owned and operated nurseries in southeastern PA and southern NJ. Hanging baskets are available in 10"and 12". Annuals are available in flats and 4", 6" or 8" pots. Perennials are available in 1 or 2 gallon pots. Shrubs are available in 2 & 3 gallon pots. In late March, we start with pansies in flats, 12" & 16" bowls and ovals or 4", 6" & 8"pots, followed by Easter flowers including tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, and hydrangeas. Early May brings Mothers Day flowers and all the Summer annuals. Fall brings mums, flowering cabbage & kale and for the Christmas holiday, fresh cut trees, garlands and wreaths.

One of our specialties is the 12" or 14" planters overflowing with annuals for shade, sun or anything in between. If you already have urns or pots, bring them in and our experienced staff will plant them with the appropriate plants for your area and color scheme.

GIFT SHOP



Our gift shop offers many unique items. Look for our selection of gardening tools, rose gloves, urns and ceramic pots, hand painted terracotta pots and window mirrors, clocks, decorative metal wall hangings, locally made seasonal wreaths and garlands.


For the discriminating palate, try our Garden Shoppe label of jellies, salsas and dips, salsas and Vidalia onion salad dressings. No dinner table is complete unless you have Root dripless candles. Root candles come in many shapes, sizes and scents for all seasons.
